Is the yellow tyre pressure warning light (the amber symbol with the exclamation mark) illuminated on your dashboard, or are you buying a new set of alloy wheels? Then you are dealing with the TPMS (Tyre Pressure Monitoring System).
TPMS sensors continuously monitor the air pressure and temperature in the tyres to warn you in time if pressure is lost. At Wheels 'N Customs you are at the right place for pre-programmed, OE-quality TPMS sensors.

Ready-Programmed for Your Car:
Ordering a new set of wheels and tyres from Wheels 'N Customs? We pre-programme or clone the TPMS sensors exactly to your vehicle’s protocol. Upon delivery or installation at our workshop in Nijkerk, you only need to fit the sensors and you can drive off immediately without any warnings!
The Difference Between Direct and Indirect TPMS:
Direct TPMS (With Wireless Sensors in the Rim)
In a direct TPMS system, an electronic sensor is mounted in each wheel rim on the inside of the valve. These sensors continuously measure the exact tyre pressure in bar/PSI and the temperature inside the tyre. The data are sent wirelessly (at 433 MHz or 315 MHz) to the ECU. If you purchase a new set of wheels, you will need physical new TPMS sensors.
Indirect TPMS (Via the ABS and Wheel Speed Sensors)
In an indirect TPMS system there are no physical sensors in the rims. The ECU calculates pressure loss indirectly by comparing the rolling circumference of the wheels via the ABS sensors. With a soft tyre, the rotational speed changes. For vehicles with indirect TPMS you do not need to order separate sensors with a new wheel set.
Why Have TPMS Sensors Cloned by Wheels 'N Customs?
When you switch between a summer and a winter wheel set, the car will normally struggle to automatically recognise the ‘new’ sensor IDs. This can mean that with every change you have to visit the main dealer to have the car relearned via the OBD2 port.
Advantage of TPMS Cloning (1-to-1 ID Copy):
At Wheels 'N Customs we can read out the unique ID codes of your original factory sensors and copy them 1-to-1 (‘clone’) to your new set of sensors. To your car’s ECU, it appears as if the wheels have never been changed. This lets you drive away immediately with peace of mind, without warnings on your dashboard!
TPMS and the Mandatory APK Inspection:
Legal Requirement since 2014
Since 1 November 2014, a properly functioning TPMS system has been mandatory for all newly registered passenger cars in Europe. During the annual APK inspection it is checked that the TPMS system operates without faults. If the orange warning light remains illuminated due to a missing sensor, a flat sensor battery or a fault, this is an official ground for APK failure.
Frequently Asked Questions (FAQ) about TPMS Sensors:
How long does a TPMS sensor battery last?
The internal lithium battery of a TPMS sensor is potted and has an average lifespan of 5 to 8 years (or approximately 120,000 to 150,000 kilometres). When the battery runs out, the sensor must be replaced and reprogrammed.
Can I choose the valve colour of the TPMS sensor for black or dark wheels?
Yes! We supply our TPMS sensors with high-quality aluminium valve stems in silver, matt black and anthracite. This way, the sensor aesthetically matches the colour of your new wheels seamlessly.
Which payment methods can I use at Wheels 'N Customs?
We offer a very wide range of secure payment methods. Easily pay via iDEAL, Bancontact (Belgium), Credit card, PayPal, SEPA bank transfer, Belfius Direct Net, KBC/CBC Payment Button, SOFORT Banking, EPS and instalment options (such as In3 on our
