How does the System X adapter system work?

System X consists of two separate adapter discs. Disc (A) is screwed directly onto the vehicle’s original hub. Disc (B) is then mounted onto disc (A) and contains the new bolt pattern for the wheel.

What is the minimum thickness of System X adapters?

The minimum thickness per wheel for the System X adapter is 30 mm for System 3X (with integrated studs) and 40 mm for System 4X (with threaded holes).

Q: May I convert a 5-hole vehicle to a 4-hole wheel?

No. Please note that reducing the number of holes (for example from a 5-hole vehicle to a 4-hole wheel) is technically not permitted due to the maximum allowable load.

Our System X is used when your desired adjustment cannot be reproduced for technical reasons with our standard adapter systems. An extremely robust, two-piece system for the most complex bolt pattern conversions.

How System X Works (Two Discs)
Our System X adapter is characterised by great versatility. It consists of two separate adapter discs:

Disc (A): This first disc is screwed directly to the vehicle. The PCD and the number of holes therefore match the factory specifications of your vehicle exactly.
Disc (B): The second disc is then mounted onto disc (A). This disc is used to secure the new wheel with nuts or bolts.

System 3X versus System 4X

Within this two-piece system, a distinction is made in how the new wheel is secured:

System 3X: Disc B has integrated studs (for mounting with wheel nuts). The minimum thickness for this is 30 mm per wheel.
System 4X: Disc B has threaded holes (for mounting with wheel bolts). The minimum thickness for this is 40 mm per wheel.

With this system, the number of technically feasible adaptations increases dramatically compared to a single-disc solution.

Thanks to System X we can perform more complex adaptations. A common example:

Vehicle: 100/4 * 57.1 (VW Golf II)
New wheel: 112/5 * 66.6 (Mercedes Benz)

Maximum Load & Hole Count Rule

The maximum permissible load per wheel for System X is 510 kg.

Please note: Reducing the number of holes, for example from a 5-hole vehicle to a 4-hole wheel, is technically not permitted and not possible!

TÜV / §21 Approval

Like our other adaptations, System X is covered by our strength report. This enables individual approval according to §21.

Note: As always, the relevant requirements (e.g. ET limit, clearance for the wheel and the wheel arch/hub cap) must be observed. We recommend consulting your test centre or garage in advance.

▵ Observe the ET value (offset)

Because a System X adapter physically takes up at least 30 mm or 40 mm of space (depending on 3X or 4X), it also pushes your new wheel exactly this thickness further outwards (towards the wheel arch). Subtract the adapter thickness from the ET value of your new wheel.

(Example: Wheel ET 50 minus Adapter 30 mm = Effective ET 20 on the car).

▵ Binding installation instructions & exclusions

An adapter carries the full weight and all torsional forces of the wheel. To prevent vibrations or dangerously loose wheels, the following is absolutely essential:

100% flat hub: Brush the car hub completely free of rust and dirt. The rear of Disc A must absolutely fit seamlessly.
Impact wrenches prohibited: The use of pneumatic or electric impact wrenches is strictly forbidden. This damages the aluminium and the threads.
Tightening & securing: Fasten both discs with a calibrated torque wrench. Manually check all fasteners after the first 100 kilometres.
